The lid has a metal piece along the edge that rests in front of the doors, keeping them closed.
To wheel the bin out, raise the lid slightly and that allows you to open the doors.
The structure has small ramp along the lower front to help wheel the bins out smoothly.
The lid can also be propped open if required, using the simple but effective prop.
When it is time to batten down the hatches the lid has a catch that can be turned to secure the lid and doors against the elements.. or hungry seagulls.
